Valerie came to us in May 2011 by way of San Antonia, Texas. She has 17 years experience as a Massage Therapist. She is certified in Repetitive Use Injury therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Shiatsu and Deep Tissue therapy. She has special skills working with musicians. Her husband is an operatically trained vocalist (tenor), so she has massaged many orchestra members at theatrical and opera productions. She also specializes in Geriatric Massage therapy.
Her philosophy regarding her work is: Massage Therapy is more about educating the client than it is about rubbing the body. She assists the client in learning to “listen” to what their body is telling them, and then provide the client with tools to help themselves between massage visits. This may include stretching exercises, adjusting workstation equipment or developing stress reducing outlets.
Valerie lives in Brevard with her husband of 22 years and her cat. She loves the mountains and the people who live here. She is thrilled to be working with such wonderfully skilled co-workers.

At an early age, Celandine found her niche by learning and helping others through massage, yoga, aerobics, and weight-lifting. She entered the Brian Utting School of Massage in 1996, in Seattle, Washington, and excelled in an extremely comprehensive and technical program of professional studies,
including Tai Chi, Qi Gong, plus Vinyassa Yoga and Hatha Yoga. While later working with professional athletes, she developed her passion of helping others to move effectively and painlessly maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. She found a specific combination of weight training, stretches and trigger point work to be most effective in assisting the body to promote health.
This passion led Celandine to La Petite Spa, where the concept of “La Petite Fit” was born. By combining the spa’s therapeutic Infrared Sauna with yoga poses, massage, and personal training, an effective and enjoyable experience can be attained. Pam Bingham and Margie Rackley, owners of La Petite Spa, are excited to have Celandine and to offer this amazing and relaxing art form.
